About Reference Materials

Reference materials include a wide variety of dictionaries, (for example, the Historical dictionary of American radio or the Dictionary of American immigration historyencyclopedias, (for example, the Encyclopedia of women in American history or the Encyclopedia of African-American culture and history and other reference works.

Researchers can use the reference section to quickly locate accurate and reliable background information on topics related to American history between the wars.  Reference materials provide a good starting point for larger research projects by providing summaries and overviews of broad topics, and references to other useful sources.

Reference books are located on the fourth floor of the library. These books do not circulate.
